THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK GOLF… Upper Iowa men and women's golf travels to Spring Hill, Kan. to compete in the Konzem-Capra Invitational. Rockhurst will be hosting the meet which will begin on Monday, Mar. 18 and conclude on the following day.
UIU MEN'S GOLF… The Peacocks opened the spring season at the Lindenwood Invitational where they came in 11th place. Graduate Senior
Tate Carlson tied for 23rd place with a score of 219 (+6) and he recorded an eagle on the opening day of the invitational. Freshman
Caden Postma tied for 38th with a score of 223 (+10) and freshman
Christian Burkhart recorded a 52nd place finish with a 228 score (+15). Sophomore
Dylan Burns added a 77th place finish with a score of 243 (+30) and freshman
Clayton Liddle tied for 80th with a mark of 247 (+34).
UIU WOMEN'S GOLF… The Konzem-Capra Invitational will be the opening event for UIU in their spring season. The women's team competed in four meets during the fall season, highlighted by an eighth-place finish at Winona State. Senior
Katie Schweers led the way for the Peacocks as she tied for 14th place with a 163 score (+19). Sophomore
Brynn Bonefas and senior
Delaney Martin finished back-to-back in 38th and 39th place as Bonefas recorded a 181 score (+37) and Martin finished with a 182 mark (+38). Junior
Ryah Bergeron tied for 42nd with a score of 184 (+40), junior
Lizzy Ellis came in 49th with a 194 score (+50) and junior
Carli Gebel tied for 50th with a score of 198 (+54).
ROCKHURST PREVIEW… The men's team competed in the Maverick Desert Classic at the start of March, where they came in sixth place. Junior David Schilp posted a 145 (+1) score over the two rounds as he tied for seventh. The women's team are coming off a fifth-place finish at the SMSU Spring Invite. Junior Grace Claney finished with a score of 151 (+7) over the two rounds, concluding the event with a ninth-place finish.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… The men's team will be back in action next week as they participate in the NSIC Preview from Monday, Mar. 25- Tuesday, Mar. 26. Following the NSIC Preview, both the men and women will be competing in the UIU Invite which will take place on the weekend of April 6-7 in Waterloo, Iowa.
