THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK BASEBALL… Upper Iowa baseball returns home to Robertson Woods Field on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Kansas City this weekend. They host William Jewell College in a single game at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and NSIC member Augustana on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Their week concludes with a conference series against Rockhurst with games on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. & 4 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.

RECAP OF THE LAST ACTION…. The Peacocks are looking to break a eight-game skid as they dropped a pair of games to Emporia State and Fort Hays State, as well as the series to Maryville over the weekend. UIU was right on the brink of victory twice as two of their games were decided by one run. After being on the road for their last handful of matchups, they return home for the first time since Feb. 27. 
 
TEAM LEADERS… Bryce Hall leads the Peacocks on offense with a .306 batting average, going 11-36 at the plate. 
Gunnar Wicklund follows right behind with a .286 average and has recorded a team-high six RBI's.

Gabe Bombardier have each tallied two home runs on the season so far. As a unit, the Peacocks have accumulated 77 hits, 12 doubles, one triple and ten home runs. 
 
Isaiah Maes has thrown a total 13.1 innings for Upper Iowa, allowing 16 hits and 12 runs while striking out 12. 
Nick Hartje has tossed 6.1 innings and has an ERA of 1.42 after allowing four hits and one run. He's added seven strikeouts on the season. 
 
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION… The Cardinals are at the .500 mark on the season as they hold a 6-6 record and are 1-3 in the conference. They took a game off Quincy in their last conference series, defeating them 11-7 while dropping the other three. They are led at the plate by Cole Conner who is hitting .423 in 26 at-bats. Jordan Phillips trails behind at .386 and leads the team in home runs with five. Breven Yarbo and Jacob Sullivan both have two wins on the year on the mound for the Cardinals. 
 
The Vikings have started their season 10-2 and 4-0 in the NSIC. They are on an eight-game win streak and only allowed Bemidji to score two runs throughout their entire four-game series last weekend. They have four batters hitting over .400, led by Jack Hines with .478, who also leads the team in RBI's with 19. 
 
The Hawks have opened the year 10-5 and 2-2 in the GLVC. They picked up two wins over No. 17 Illinois Springfield in their four-game series last weekend. Michael Laudando paces Rockhurst with a .455 average, going 15-33 at the plate, followed by Dakota Hanna with .419. Collectively, the team has recorded 128 RBI's, 20 more than the opponents they have faced. Jake Canent has a 5-1 record on the bump for the Hawks with a 1.57 ERA after 23 innings pitched. 
 
DOWN THE STRETCH… Action next week for the Peacocks consists of a single game in Liberty, Mo. against William Jewell on Tuesday, Mar. 19 at 3 p.m. UIU then returns home for a series with Drury over the weekend. Their first contest is Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a double header on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Their final game against the Panthers will take place on Sunday at 12 p.m.
