THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S HOOPS
Peacock men's basketball has one lone game this week as they travel to Chicago, Ill. to take on Roosevelt on Thursday at 2 p.m. This will be the second time these non-conference opponents have met this season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks and the Lakers faced off earlier this season in the Midwest Region Crossover in Springfield, Ill. Upper Iowa put on an offensive clinic and clinched a 105-78 victory over Roosevelt the first time the teams met. Nick Reid recorded a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Gavin Hershberger followed right behind with 19 points and six assists.
 
The Peacocks shot 52.6% for the game, going 41-78 from the field and 9-28 (32%) from long distance. The Lakers netted 39.8% (33-83) from the floor and went 2-12 beyond the arc. 
 
UIU outscored RU 52-32 in the first half to fuel their success. 
 
GLVC STATISTICS
Upper Iowa ranks second in the conference in scoring with 82.8 points per contest, trailing Missouri S&T, putting up 91.9 per game. The Peacocks are listed first in combined team rebounds (42.6 per game) and offensive rebounds (14.6 per game). Additionally, they rank second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.37). 
 
Individually, Reid is second in scoring with 18.8 per game, while Noah King is listed third with 18.3 per contest. Reid also leads the league in rebounding with 9.3 per game, followed by Kyle Hrncir listed in 4^th with 7.7 per contest. Caleb Delzell ranks 4^th for blocked shots with 14 on the season (1.4 per game). 
 
ABOUT THE LAKERS
Roosevelt enters this week's game at 3-6 on the year and 0-2 in the GLIAC. They picked up a win over Marian (Ind.) in their most recent matchup, 78-63, but fell to a pair of ranked teams before that contest. The Lakers dropped to No. 10 Lake Superior State 79-77 and No. 6 Ferris State 95-72. 
 
RU has versed three GLVC teams this season, including Upper Iowa. Roosevelt fell to Springfield 93-76 in the Midwest Region Crossover and later to Indianapolis 65-48. 
 
The team is led in scoring by Forte Prater, who averages 22.1 points per game. Enari Thomas is also in double figures with 16.9 per contest. Ramean Hinton and Kennedy Brown haul in 9.5 and 8.4 rebounds, respectively.
 
AFTER THE HOLIDAYS
Men's basketball returns to the hardwood in January as they host Missouri-St. Louis on Jan. 3 and Maryville on Jan 5.
