THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL… Upper Iowa will wrap up their nonconference season with their final two games of December. The Peacocks host Judson on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. before taking on Lake Superior State on the road on Saturday, Dec. 21 at noon. It will be the first time the Peacocks face both teams in program history.

GLVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK… The Peacocks are coming off a three-game week to start December, where they posted a 2-1 record against GLVC opponents. Exactly one year after UIU won their last overtime game against Truman State (12/2/23), the Peacocks won a double overtime thriller against Quincy by a score of 88-84. Senior
Mia Huberty put together the second-highest scoring performance in school history at the Division Two level, as she recorded 38 points on 15-29 shooting, while making 4-8 of her shots from three. She added a team-high nine rebounds and also blocked a shot. Two games later, Huberty scored 28 points on 10-22 shooting in Upper Iowa's victory over Lincoln. She shot 7-8 from the charity stripe and hauled in nine rebounds with a block once again. For her incredible performances, Huberty garnered the GLVC Player of the Week Award and she leads the conference with an average of 22.3 points per game on the season.
HIGH-PERFORMING PEACOCKS… Fifth year
Kayla Bohr is scoring 10.7 points per game and she has shot 42.9% (9-21) from three-point range. Bohr has added 4.0 rebounds per game and she put together a career-high 22 points against Winona State where she shot 5-7 from three. Senior
Helen Staley has averaged 7.0 points per game and also recorded the best scoring-game of her career with 18 points against Roosevelt. Staley leads the Peacocks with 9.1 rebounds per game and she has hauled in at least seven boards in every game on the season. Sophomore
Ava Privet has recorded 7.6 points per game with a career-high 20-point game against Augustana on 7-14 shooting. Freshman
Lindsey Davis has added 7.0 points per game, highlighted by an 18-point performance against Northland on 8-14 shooting.
PREMIERE AGAINST JUDSON… The Eagles have posted a 2-6 overall record while going 1-2 in the CCAC. Junior Madison Carlson leads the team with an average of 11.6 points per game on 46.5% shooting. She is coming off a season-high 23 points against Olivet Nazarene on 10-14 shooting, and she put together a 22-point performance against Aurora. Senior Brooke Heiman has scored 10.8 points and hauled in 3.8 rebounds per game. Heiman has scored in double figures six times and is coming off consecutive 17-point performances which is her season-high. Junior Demiah Hawkins is averaging 7.3 points and she ranks second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per game.
DEBUT WITH LAKE SUPERIOR STATE… The Lakers have also started the year 2-6 and they have recorded a 1-1 mark in GLIAC play. Junior Grace Bradford has been dominant on both ends of the floor as she leads the Lakers in all five major statistical categories. She is averaging 14.9 points on 45.2% shooting, while hauling in 10.5 rebounds with 2.9 offensive boards a game. Bradford has recorded five double doubles and has dished out 1.9 assists, added 1.6 steals, and blocked 1.1 shots per game. Sophomore Breah Golden has scored 13.4 points per game while shooting 43.2% from beyond the arc. She recorded a season-high 24 points on 4-6 three-point shooting against Walsh and has added 3.0 rebounds per game on the season.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… Upper Iowa will return to GLVC play with a pair of home games. The Peacocks face Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, Jan. 3 at 5 p.m. and Maryville on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
