The Peacocks opened their inaugural season at the Luther Hill Open where they had two wrestlers compete on varsity, and another two compete at the freshman/sophomore level.
Senior
Alyssa Arce competed in the Varsity 180 Division where Ruby Joseph (Northern Michigan) won by fall (0:52) in round one, before Mickaela Keane (Northern Michigan) won by fall (2:04) in the consolation second round.
Junior
Toyia Griffin participated in the Varsity 207 Division where Sara Lake (Lindenwood) won by fall (4:18) in the quarterfinals and Sydni Scott (William Jewell) won by a 3-2 decision in the third round of the consolations.
Freshman
Makayla Matson competed in the Freshman/Sophomore 117 Division where Aniya Coleman (Central College) won by tech fall (14-2) in round one and Kate Richards (Central College) won by fall (2:50) in the consolation second round.
Sophomore
Rio Johnson took part in the Freshman/Sophomore 160 Division where Olivia Fausnaugh (Iowa Central CC) won by fall (1:11) in the opening round, before Andrea Zunun (Northern Michigan) won by fall (0:43) in round two of the consolation bracket.
Upper Iowa will be back in action for the Luther Open on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
