Box Score Upper Iowa opened their road trip, falling by a score of 5-0 to the Rockhurst Hawks.
Rockhurst jumped to an early lead on a Sam McIntosh goal that sailed into the top right corner, seven minutes in. He added another shot on target 30 seconds later, which was saved by junior
Diogo Cardoso. Cardoso then added back-to-back saves on shots down the middle in the 16
th minute. McIntosh scored his second goal of the game in the 19
th and Rockhurst propelled themselves to a 3-0 lead on a goal by Blake Barrick in the 20
th minute. Their offense continued to thrive as Immanuel Wayoro scored on a 44
th minute strike that rolled into the left corner of the goal. Fifth year
Thomas Walle recorded the final shot on goal with 30 seconds remaining in the half, which was saved by Franco Brunoro. The Hawks built on their first half momentum as Cristoforo LiCavoli scored in the 55
th minute, which would be the final goal of the game.
The Peacocks will stay in Missouri as they face William Jewell on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m.
