Upper Iowa overcame a halftime deficit to draw with the Lincoln Blue Tigers by a score of 1-1.

The Blue Tigers opened the game on the highest possible note as Hadri Lopez scored on the first shot of the game in the 5^th minute on an assist from Albert Kemeh. Junior JJ Gonzalez-Hayes responded by recording his first save of the game in the 13^th, and he finished the first period with four saves.

Gonzalez-Hayes added back-to-back saves on opposite ends of the goal in the 48^th minute and he continued to thrive as he recorded two more consecutive saves in the 51^st. Senior Daniel Pranger fired a shot on goal in the 58^th minute which was deflected away on the left side by keeper Antwone Gooden. The Peacocks offense had another opportunity to tie the game in the 69^th, which they successfully took advantage of. Junior Fabio Bender's shot found the back of the net, tying the game at 1-1 on his second goal of the season with fifth year Daigo Adachi and junior Alejandro Sanchez dishing out the assists. Both Adachi and Sanchez recorded their team-leading fourth assists on the season while also picking up an assist in consecutive games.

Lincoln had one last chance to try and take the lead with 15 seconds remaining, but Brady Charles' shot down the middle was saved by Gonzalez-Hayes. He finished the half with seven saves, to close out a career-high 11 save performance in the 1-1 tie.

The Peacocks will close out their road trip against Missouri S&T on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m.
