THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK VOLLEYBALL
Upper Iowa (6-10, 1-4 GLVC) has three non-conference contests on tap for this weekend at the Midwest Crossover in Hammond, Ind. as they take on Saginaw Valley Sate, Lake Erie College and Ursuline College across Friday and Saturday. They verse Saginaw and Lake Erie on Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., while concluding the tournament on Saturday against Ursuline College at 9:30 a.m.

ABOUT THE EVENT
The 16
th annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover, the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, will be held at the Hammond Sportsplex & Community Center in Hammond, Indiana, on Oct. 18-19, 2024. The event will pit 14 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) volleyball teams against 13 institutions representing the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and 11 programs from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The tournament will feature 38 teams competing. Each team will be guaranteed three matches and every session will utilize six courts at once. Purdue Northwest's John Friend Court will also be utilized for three matches on Friday.
LAST SEASON AT THE CROSSOVER
Last season, the Peacocks competed in the Midwest Crossover for the first time and challenged Ohio Dominican, Wayne State (MI) and Trevecca. UIU went 1-2 at the tournament, trumping Ohio Dominican 3-1 in game one before dropping to Wayne State (MI) 3-0 and Trevecca Nazarene 3-1.
THE FRONTRUNNERS
Quincy continues to sit atop the conference standings with a flawless 5-0 record in the GLVC and a 16-1 overall record. Lewis trails right behind at 5-1 with their only GLVC loss to Missouri-St. Louis last weekend in a five-set match. UMSL ranks third (4-1), while Indianapolis, Rockhurst and Maryville are in a three-way tie for fourth with a 4-2 mark in the league.
THE SEMELROTH SLAM
Peacock middle
Zoe Semelroth continues to hold her high rankings in the conference, and the nation, in hitting percentage and kills per set. She ranks first in the GLVC in hitting percentage and 17
th in the nation with .407. Semelroth has totaled 282 kills this season, averaging 4.41 per set, placing her second in the league and ninth in the country for Division II.
DOWN THE ROAD
Upper Iowa returns to Dorman Memorial Gymnasium next weekend and dives back into conference play as they host Rockhurst on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. and William Jewell on Saturday at 5 p.m.
