The Peacock Athletics Department has announced a jam-packed schedule over the next two months with theme nights and other notable dates that you won't want to miss! The dates on the calendar are set to cover the remainder of home contests through the months of January and February. See below for more detail regarding what to expect inside Dorman Gymnasium on the corresponding day/night.
The first three events in the month of January will be themes that ask our student section and fans for a certain style of dress, including western, jersey and blackout. The last event in the month of January will be the Mike Olsen Alumni Dual.
- Jan. 18- WESTERN THEME (Women's and men's basketball vs. Drury 5/7:30 p.m.)
- Jan. 20- JERSEY THEME (Women's and men's basketball vs. Maryville 1/3 p.m.)
- Jan. 26- BLACKOUT THEME (Men's wrestling vs. Maryville 7 p.m.)
- Jan. 28- MIKE OLSEN ALUMNI DUAL (Men's wrestling vs. Drury 2 p.m.)
February starts off with academic night, where we will recognize our student-athletes for their achievements in the classroom. The same evening doubles as our faculty and staff appreciation night. This month will also feature senior day recognition for the select winter sports; men's and women's basketball, wrestling and cheer & dance. We will hold a basketball double header for breast cancer awareness, as well as two nationally-recognized events: one recognizing Division II day and the other bringing attention to girls and women in sports (NGWSD). The other two dates will be basketball alumni day and tropical theme.
- Feb. 1- ACADEMIC NIGHT/FACULTY & STAFF APPRECIATION (Basketball vs. UMSL 5/7:30)
- Feb. 3- NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY/CHEER ALUMNI DAY (Basketball vs McKendree 1/3 p.m.)
- Feb. 4- MEN'S WRESTLING SENIOR DAY (Men's wrestling vs. Minnesota State 2 p.m.)
- Feb. 15- TROPICAL THEME (Basketball vs. Missouri S&T 5/7:30 p.m.)
- Feb. 17- BASKETBALL ALUMNI DAY (Basketball vs. Maryville 1/3 p.m.)
- Feb. 22- BREAST CANCER AWARENESS NIGHT (Basketball vs. Quincy 5/7:30 p.m.)
- Feb. 24-BASKETBALL/CHEER AND DANCE SENIOR DAY (Basketball vs. Illinois Springfield 1/3 p.m.).
