The Upper Iowa men's golf team were in action on Monday and Tuesday as they competed at The Mule. The event, hosted by the University of Central Missouri at Mules National Golf Club, featured 19 teams from 18 schools that competed across 54 holes. The Peacocks finished in 18th place with a score of 912 after rounds of 294, 307, and 311.
UCM and Missouri Western State University tied for first place with identical final scores of 862 (+22). The University of Central Oklahoma finished in third place with a score of 866 (+26).
Individually, Missouri Western's Marius Dosiere earned medalist honors with a score of 205 (-5) after rounds of 70, 65, and 70. Ryan Petry of Bemidji State University and Austin Shoemaker of Lincoln University tied for second with scores of 209 (-1).
Tate Carlson finished with the top score for the Peacocks, recording rounds of 70,79, and 77 for a final score of 226 (+16).
Owen Davison and
Ashton Martens would go on to finish one stroke behind as each golfer recorded a score of 227 (+17).
Nathan Petrak completed the tournament with a final score of 232 (+22).
Nolan Ross rounded out the UIU competitors with a score of 243 (+33). Petrak, alongside Carlson, led the Peacocks with eight birdies each in total.
Up next, UIU will return home in order to prep as competitors and hosts for the upcoming UIU Invitational. The annual event is set to begin this Friday April 7 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa.
