Upper Iowa earned their second win of the weekend in a tough-fought 3-2 victory against Southwest Baptist. The Peacocks grabbed their third conference win of the season, improving to 7-8 (3-2 GLVC), while the Bearcats dropped to 8-10 (1-5 GLVC) on the year. 
 
SBU claimed set one with a score of 25-21 after UIU was unable to overcome an 18-9 disadvantage, despite their six-point run to bring the deficit to 18-15. 
 
The Peacocks came back to claim the second stint 25-20. After the score was tied up at 14 apiece, UIU went on a 6-1 slide, fueled by kills from Semelroth and Imbrogno, an attack error from the Bearcats and a service ace for the home team. The Peacocks had a hitting percentage in set two of .239, while the visitors recorded a .075 percentage. 
 
The third set belonged to Upper Iowa, as they scraped out a 25-21 win. The fourth set was taken by the Bearcats who rallied off an 8-0 run to win the game after trailing the Peacocks 22-18. 
 
UIU grabbed the fifth set in a 15-12 decision. They rattled off the last three points with the score tied at 12 apiece after a service error from the opposing team and kills from Semelroth and Pace. 
 
Zoe Semelroth had another 22-kill performance in Saturday night's game with a .439 hitting percentage. She was complemented by 
Emily Kono and 
Martha Pace's 11 kills. 
Nicole Pozorski handed out 53 assists and Lydia Imborgno led the team with 23 digs. 
 
The Peacocks are back in Dorman Gymnasium next Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a non-conference battle with Winona State before heading to Hammond, Ind. for the Midwest Crossover tournament. The Midwest Crossover will be held on Oct. 13-14 with representation from three different conferences (GLVC, GMAC and GLIAC).
