Upper Iowa volleyball hosted Winona State in Dorman Gymnasium tonight for a non-conference matchup and fell in a 3-0 decision. The Peacocks dropped to 7-9 (3-2 GLVC), while the Warriors improved to 14-4 (6-3 NSIC).
WSU was dominant right from the start, executing 17 kills in the first set with a hitting percentage of .484. They took the first set with a score of 25-14.
The second set was a closer contest as the Warriors were only victorious by a two-point margin (25-23). UIU was leading 20-19, but allowed WSU to go on a 4-0 slide to gain a 23-20 advantage. With the score 24-23 in favor of the visiting team, Taylor Pagel executed a kill to seal the second set for Winona State. She finished with a game-high of 12 kills.
The Warriors took the third set 25-17. The Peacocks had a 15-13 lead, but allowed the visitors to go on a 6-0 run to take a 19-15 lead. The set ended with a 5-0 run for WSU to lead them to their 14th win of the season.

Lydia Imbrogno each finished the game with six kills each.
Nicole Pozorski added 18 assists and Vitoriah Kazanovski contributed four. Semelroth recorded a game-high four aces and six blocks.
The Peacocks travel next to Hammond, Ind. for the Midwest Crossover. The tournament will be held on Oct. 13-14 with representation from several different conferences. Upper Iowa will face Ohio Dominican and Wayne State University (MI) on Friday at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with their last match taking place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. versus Trevecca Nazarene.
