THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER… Upper Iowa finishes up the first round of conference play in their next action against St. Cloud State University. The contest will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Harms-Eischeid Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

PEACOCK HUE REVIEW … The Peacocks sit at a record of 1-8 (0-5 GLIAC). Most recently, they matched up against Purdue Northwest and Davenport. Upper Iowa fell to the Pride in a 3-0 result. Purdue Northwest sparked their momentum at the 12:45 mark and capitalized on a foul in the box committed by Upper Iowa. Their penalty execution set the tone for the rest of the match. Purdue Northwest went on to score two more goals to finish out the contest. Upper Iowa had several good looks, but failed to find a way back into the game. However, they outshot the Pride 10-7, a season first for the Peacocks.
Davenport attacked early against the Peacocks, scoring within the first minute of the match. They went on to take eight more attempts in the first half. The Panthers executed for their second goal at the 36:29 mark, holding the 2-0 advantage for the entirety of the half. Upper Iowa came out with something to prove in the second segment. Their aggressive style of play pushed them to a season high of 11 shots in just one half. The Peacocks scored their first goal of the afternoon in the 62nd minute when
Carson Cajuste netted one after being found by
Noah Gjervik. Cajuste tallied the team's second goal of the evening just six minutes later. He converted for his second score as he found the back of the net on a dish from
Leart Wunsch. These were Cajuste's first two goals of the season. The score held 2-2 with one minute left to play. At the 89:14 mark, Davenport netted the last goal of the match, securing the 3-2 victory. After witnessing a total of 18 shots in the match, goalkeeper
Archie Watts posted seven saves.
ST. CLOUD STATE… St. Cloud State currently holds a record of 1-6-2 (0-5 GLIAC) on the season. They are looking to break their six game losing streak in the matchup against the Peacocks. Both teams are looking for their first conference win. The Huskies most recently matched up against Purdue Northwest, falling in a 2-1 result. Owen Wordshell had their lone goal. The team is evenly led in scoring, as three individuals have scored two goals on the season. This group includes Wordshell, Chief Williams and Amar Dupanovic. Between posts, their redshirt senior goalkeeper Gage Steiner is currently ranked third in the GLIAC for saves with 26.
TAILORED TIMELINE… After Sunday's match, the Peacocks see their next action the following Friday when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to take on Davenport University. Their second head to head with the Panthers this season will take place at 12:30 p.m. CST. Upper Iowa will finish out the weekend with a matchup against Purdue University Northwest on Sunday at 10 a.m CST.
