The Upper Iowa men and women's cross country team traveled to Minneapolis to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
On the men's side, the team finished 26th place overall. In the 8k race,
Nathan Goranson was the top finisher with a time of 28:17. He placed 168th and tallied a total of 104 points for the Peacocks. The next best time on the team was 29:01.5, run by Brayan Silva. Other contributors were
Dalton Baker (29:09.5), Brycer Baker (30:31.2), Chance Adam (31:11.5),
David Snider (31:56.3), Collin Duax (32:57.1) and
Brady Johnston (33:56.7). The men ran an average of 29:38.1, which was an improvement from last year's mark of 29:54.5.Â
The women placed 28th overall in the 6k race. Their top finisher was
Ashley Donovan with a time of 24:59.3. She placed 103rd overall and tallied 87 points for Upper Iowa. Other contributors were Eryn Sabelka (27:00.6),
Jadyn Schultz (27:15.9), Mackenzie Rader (27:41.7),
Macey White (28:45.4) and
Jade Martin (30:22.4). The women averaged a time of 27:08.6.
Up next, the Peacocks head to Cedar Rapids to compete at Mount Mercy University on Saturday, Oct. 8.
