Peacock men's soccer trekked to Saginaw Valley State University and fell by a score of 3-0. The loss drops Upper Iowa to 1-6 (0-3 GLIAC) on the season while the Cardinals improve to 6-0-1 (3-0 GLIAC) on the year.  
 
The Cardinals got right down to business, getting off to a 2-0 lead within the first 12 minutes of the match. Saginaw scored in the seventh minute. Their next goal was executed at the 12 minute mark.  The score remained 2-0 throughout the remainder of the first half. SVSU netted their third and final goal in the 67th minute. 
 
Saginaw Valley State was active on the offensive end, recording a total of 22 shots, 10 of which were on goal. With all the heat thrown his way, Goalkeeper Archie Watts pulled down six saves in the competition. SVSU Keeper Nick Kay tallied five saves against UIU's five shots on goal.
 
Edward Stephens-Truman led the way offensively for the Peacocks with two shot attempts, one of those being on target. There was a mix of offensive attempts from across the board. 
 
Coming up, the Peacocks will play their first pair of home conference matches here at Harms-Eischeid Stadium next weekend. Upper Iowa will host Purdue University Northwest on Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Their second match of the weekend will be against Davenport University on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
