PEACOCK HUE REVIEW... Upper Iowa saw their first GLIAC action last weekend in duels with Northern Michigan and UW-Parkside. The men's soccer team fell by a score of 4-2 against Northern Michigan University, despite leading 2-0 in the first half. The Wildcats rallied in the second 45 minute stint and found the back of the net four times. Goalkeeper
Archie Watts pulled down a total of eight saves in the contest. Sophomore
Frider Blunck netted both goals for the Peacocks, his first of the 2022 season. Blunck and
Yannis Sapim lead the Peacocks in goals scored with two apiece.
In the midst of rainy day play, the Peacocks fell to the Rangers 4-1. Upper Iowa struck early, scoring in the 14th minute of the match, creating a 1-0 edge.
Noah Gjervik took a free kick and ripped it in the direction of the goal. Freshman
Dexter Garrett connected on the pass and headed the ball into the upper right corner of the goal. This was Garrett's first score of the season and Gjervik's first dime of the year. UW-Parkside answered back with their first goal in the 39th minute of the game. They went on to net three more before the contest concluded.
SEEKING OUT SAGINAW... Saginaw currently holds a record of 5-0-1 (2-0 GLIAC). They kicked off conference play in matches with Davenport and Purdue Northwest.
