The Upper Iowa men's soccer team fell by a score of 4-2 against Northern Michigan University, despite leading 2-0 in the first half. The loss drops the Peacocks to 1-4 (0-1 GLIAC) on the year while the Wildcats improve to 2-2-1 (1-0 GLIAC) on the season.
The Peacocks executed on both of their scoring opportunities. Sophomore
Frider Blunck netted both goals in the match. The first was in the 15th minute and the other took place five minutes before the first half concluded. This gave Upper Iowa an early 2-0 lead. His two goals were the only shots taken by Upper Iowa in the entire contest. Blunck and
Yannis Sapim lead the team in scoring, each having tabbed two on the year so far.
The Wildcats came out firing away in the second half. Their first two scores were each from penalty kicks, both occurring before the 65th minute. Their third goal was at the 73rd minute and their fourth was at the 86th mark. Northern Michigan edged Upper Iowa in shot attempts 20-2.

Archie Watts pulled down a total of eight saves in the contest.
The Peacocks are back in action Sunday against their next GLIAC competitor, UW-Parkside. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
