Former Peacock right hander
Duncan Snider is having a memorable week. Last week, the 6-foot-7 pitcher struck out 16 batters in an
American Association game for the Lake County Dockhounds. The 16 punchouts broke a team record and rank second all-time in the American Association. Following the game, Snider's contract was transferred to the San Diego Padres.

Snider, who struck out nine-straight batters during his game last week, is headed to California, where he will join the
Lake Elsinore Storm, the Padres' Single-A Affiliate.

The Muscatine, Iowa native was named to the NSIC All-Defensive Team following his final season in Peacock blue and white. Snider made a team-high 12 starts logging a conference-high 64.2 innings pitched. He ranked in the top ten in the NSIC with 66 strikeouts and in the top five in strikeouts looking. Snider fielded his position with a perfect fielding percentage on 23 chances with 17 assists and six putouts.

Over his three seasons with Upper Iowa, Snider was 7-11 with a 4.39 ERA in 133.1 innings with 143 strikeouts. He saved his best season for last posting a 4-3 record with a 3.62 ERA in 2021; opposing batters managed a .241 batting average against Snider.

Snider made his pro debut with the Tucson Saguaros in the Pecos League in 2021, before making his final three starts for the Houston Apollos, then a travel team in the AAPB.
