Upper Iowa came out on the wrong side of a 23-4 women's lacrosse decision in Houghton, Mich. on Friday evening. The Peacocks lost their rematch with the Wildcats of Northern Michigan University after the home team outscored their guests 13-0 between the first and third quarters. UIU is now 0-9 on the season and 0-7 in the GLIAC, while NMU improved to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Maya Chesky each recorded a pair of goals for Upper Iowa. Thirteen Wildcats hit the scoring column with a goal led by Maddi Bast's four goals, while three other players scored three times apiece.Â
Northern Michigan took an 8-0 lead after the first quarter, but Upper Iowa was able to scratch the scoreboard three times in the second quarter. The Wildcats outscored the Peacocks 10-1 in the second half.
The Wildcats claimed a 55-16 advantage in shots in the game.
Izzy Kaczik collected 11 saves in the game.
The Peacocks will close out their first full season this coming week with a non-conference match at home against Quincy University on Tuesday, Apr. 19 at 3 p.m. and a final GLIAC game in the Twin Cities against Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, Apr. 22 at 6 p.m.
