Upper Iowa's women's lacrosse team wrapped up their first road weekend in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Sunday at No. 10 Grand Valley State University. The nationally-ranked Lakers handed the Peacocks a 24-0 loss in Allendale, Mich. GVSU improved to 10-1 on the season and 2-0 in the conference, while UIU fell to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the GLIAC.

The Lakers posted 11 goals in the first quarter and six in the second to grab a 17-0 lead as the team's went to the locker room. The home team added four goals in the third and three more in the fourth to secure the 24-0 win.

GVSU outshot UIU 35-5 including a 29-0 advantage in shots on goal and forced the Peacocks into 15 turnovers.

Maya Chesky fired off the other two shots and had five draw controls in the match.

Upper Iowa returns home to Fayette for their next match. The Peacocks will host the Golden Bears of Concordia University, St. Paul in a GLIAC matchup on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 6 p.m. on the turf in Harms-Eischeid Stadium.
