The Peacock women's lacrosse team got onto the turf in Grand Rapids, Mich. this evening against the No. 23 Panthers of Davenport University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game. The nationally-ranked Panthers claimed a 21-2 win to improve to 8-1 on the year and 1-0 in the GLIAC, while Upper Iowa falls to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Panthers claimed a 10-0 lead after the first quarter and ran their shutout deep into the second quarter.
Morgynn Spears snapped Davenport's run at 13 when she scored Upper Iowa's first goal of the day thanks to an assist by
Maya Chesky. DU led 14-1 at halftime and pushed their lead to 17-1 after the third quarter ended. After the home team moved out to a 21-1 lead, the Spears scored UIU's second goal and put the final scratch on the scoreboard.

Davenport posted a 37-8 advantage in shots and forced Upper Iowa into 21 turnovers in the game, while grabbing a 17-5 advantage in ground balls.

Spears took three of UIU's eight shots and converted two of them. Chesky took four shots, but was unable to score, although she did have an assist in the game.
Izzy Kaczik made 11 saves in the contest.
Anna Glynn scored five goals and added two assists, while Aaliyah Miller scored four times and added two assists. Ayanna Turrubiates also scored four goals with one assist. In addition to the top trio of scorers, the Panthers got goals from nine players, while three more players notched an assist including Reilly Noble, who registered four assists.
The Peacocks will take on the No. 10 Lakers of Grand Valley State University on Sunday, Mar. 27. UIU and GVSU will face each other in Allendale, Mich. at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT.
