No. 19/21 Upper Iowa remained undefeated in Dorman Memorial Gymnasium (12-0) this season with an 82-58 victory over the University of Sioux Falls. The Peacocks celebrated Senior Day with the win that secured a weekend sweep and put an exclamation point on a perfect 5-0 Stormin' Dorman Weekend thanks to a win by the No. 15 wrestling team and two wins from the women's basketball team.

After the victory, UIU improved to 22-4 overall and 16-4 in the Northern Sun, while Sioux Falls dropped to 11-12 overall and 7-10 in the conference.

Lucas Duax led the Peacocks with 19 points and 11 rebounds on 8-12 shooting.
Jake Hilmer added 19 and 6 assists on 9-14 shooting while
Joe Smoldt netted 17 points. As a team, Upper Iowa shot 55% (33-60) from the floor and outrebounded the Cougars 48-37. Six more Peacocks scored in the game including seven points and eight rebounds from
Nick Reid.

Matt Cartwright paced Sioux Falls with 20 points; 17 of those 20 came in a blistering first half for one of the NSIC's top scorers. UIU forced USF into 26.7% shooting (20-75) including 21.2% (7-33) from deep.

Six minutes into the game, the Cougars held a 14-8 lead over Upper Iowa, but the home team outscored their guests 29-8 over the next eight minutes to turn the tables and move ahead 37-22. During the run,
Lucas Duax scored 12, Hilmer had eight and
Max Duax and
Cade Moritz combined for nine points. While UIU's offense was unstoppable hitting 13-18 from the field, the Peacock defense was even more impressive limiting the Cougars to 3-16 shooting.

After claiming an 11-point advantage at the break, Upper Iowa dominated the first eleven minutes of the second half extending their lead to 29 points, 75-46. Hilmer (9),
Lucas Duax (7) and Smoldt (7) combined for 23 of the points to the delight of the loud home crowd. Both teams emptied the benches early as Upper Iowa recorded the 82-58 win.

The Peacocks claimed big advantages in points in the paint, 40-14, and fast break points, 20-7, to fuel their big win.

Upper Iowa will line up against the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato on Thursday, Feb. 17 in the team's final home game of the season. The Peacocks have locked up a bye in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament so Thursday's game will be the final chance for fans to see the Peacocks in Fayette this season.

UIU will then close the regular season on the road at Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday, Feb. 19.
