Upper Iowa won their fourth-straight game and second-straight NSIC contest on Thursday night in Fayette. The home game was UIU's first of the season after spending their first seven games away from Dorman Gymnasium. The Peacocks (5-3, 2-0 NSIC) used a 54-point first half to control the outcome of their 82-67 decision over Concordia University, St. Paul (2-5, 0-2 NSIC).

UIU shot 51% from the floor and 42% from deep in their first night back on Prochaska Court, while holding CSP to 43% shooting overall and 25% from three. Upper Iowa was able to take advantage of the 16 turnovers they forced converting them into an 18-6 advantage in points off turnovers.

Dylan Jones led the Peacocks with 22 points on 10-12 shooting and added six rebounds.
Nick Reid hit six of his eight shots including three triples for 19 points and also pulled down seven boards.
Jake Hilmer chipped in 14 points and handed out five assists, while
Lucas Duax scored 12 points and notched five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Carter Janssen added seven points off the bench and
Austin Hilmer scored five and recorded five rebounds and three steals as well.

Antwan Kimmons scored a game-high 25 points and pulled in 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Marcus Skeete scored 13 with six rebounds and Caden Hoffman netted 12 points.

The Peacocks opened the game with a quick 9-5 burst over the first two minutes thanks to the trio of Jones, Duax and Hilmer. The three either scored or assisted on the first nine points on three lay ups and a corner three-pointer from Hilmer to open the game. Another quick 8-3 run fueled by four points apiece from Hilmer and Jones gave the home team a 17-11 advantage nearly five minutes into the first After the team's exchanged buckets, CSP took their last lead, 27-26, after a Sunday John jumper with nine minutes to play. Upper Iowa began to get their defensive legs under them and slowly moved back in front, 37-31, with four and a half minutes to play by outscoring their guests 11-4 over several minutes. Through the final four minutes of the half, the Peacock offense was unstoppable. The home team converted five of their six shots including all four three-pointers and three of their five free throws to score 17 points while forcing three Golden Bear turnovers and pushing their advantage to 13 at the break, 54-41. Reid poured in 13 points in the defining run for the Peacocks.

In the second half, Upper Iowa looked to put the game away with a 17-5 run that lasted nine and a half minutes. During the monster stretch, UIU was able to net half of their 16 field goal attempts while seven different Peacocks added to the scoring total. While the offense was clicking, the defense reached a new intensity. UIU forced nine Golden Bear turnovers in that time span with six coming by steals. The lead hit a high mark of 25, 77-52, after a three-point play by Reid with 6:20 showing on the clock. While UIU took their foot off the gas the final few minutes, the Golden Bears did shutout their hosts over the final three and a half minutes while chipping away at the lead to cut the final margin to 82-67.

Upper Iowa will head to Mankato, Minn. on Saturday to face the No. 16 Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The game is a matchup of the only two unbeatens in the NSIC South Division through the first two games. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m. following the women's game.
