The Upper Iowa men's golf team completed the fall portion of their schedule on Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational. The event was hosted by Missouri Western State University and featured teams from 10 different schools. The Peacocks went on to finish in ninth place with a final score of 921 (+69) after rounds of 312, 302, and 307.

Northeastern State University finished in first place with a score of 861 (+9) after rounds of 292, 282, and 287. They were followed by Missouri Southern State University with a score of 864 (+12) and Washburn University with a score of 870 (+18).

Individually, Missouri Southern's Tradgon McCrae earned medalist honors with a score at 210 (-3) after rounds of 75, 66, and 69. He was followed by Northeastern's Brett Wilcoxen with a score of 212 (-1).

Nathan Petrak led UIU this week with a final score of 222 (+9) that earned him a tie for 20th place. He was followed by Tate Carlson, who finished in a tie for 28th place with a final score of 225 (+12) off the back of a third-round score of 71 (E).

Owen Davison finished in 47th place with a final score of 233 (+20) that included a low round of 75. Ashton Martens completed the event in 55th place with a score of 241 (+28). Having completed the first round with a score of 81, Nolan Leaton was forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury.

As a team, UIU finished tied for third in Par 3 scoring with a 3.41 stroke average (+32). Individually, Carlson would finish in seventh place in the same category with a 3.17 stroke average (+3). Petrak would go on to finish tied for third with 12 birdies.

"It was great to see Nathan and Tate breakout over the past few days," said Head Coach Mike Lewis. "Losing a competitor like Nolan to injury is always tough when every score counts. We still managed to move up the leaderboard on the final day and the guys are learning a lot about themselves. We look forward to a great off-season where we will work on our areas of preparation physically, mentally, and technically to get ready for the second half of the year."

Having completed the fall portion of their schedule, the Peacocks will enjoy a long break over the winter before returning to the course for the spring season.
