Upper Iowa had thirteen wrestlers, including five unattached athletes, in action on Saturday at the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa. Seven Peacocks claimed a top-seven finish including the 141-pound title, third-place at 141 and 165 pounds, fifth place at 157, 165 and 174 pounds and a seventh-place finish at 157. UIU's wrestlers posted 22 bonus-point wins including 12 falls, four tech falls, and six major decisions.
 
Tate Murty improved to 6-0 on the season with a 5-0 day at 141 pounds. Murty won four of his five matches with bonus points including two falls, a tech fall and a major decision.
 
Joining Murty with five wins on the day were Gunner Rodgers and Cameron Lopez. Rodgers went 5-1 at 157 pounds to place fifth with a win by fall and a major decision, while Lopez placed fifth at 165 pounds thanks to a 5-1 mark with four falls and a major.
 
Ethen Doty (141-unattached), Scott Kellenberger (165) and Ryan Faught (174) all posted 4-1 records in their time on the mat. Doty placed third with two falls and tech fall and Kellenberger placed third with a fall and a major. Faught placed fifth scoring a fall and a major decision.
 
Ben Foelske (unattached) claimed seventh place at 157 pounds with a 3-2 record which included one fall.
 
John Ebaugh (149) won two matches, while Colby Lopez (125), Dalton Schams (149), Reily Dolan (149-unattached), Kain Luensman (149-unattached) and Cael Meyer (174-unattached) all won a match on the day.
 
The No. 15 Peacocks will host a pair of Northern Sun Conference duals this coming Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5, as they welcome Northern State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead to Dorman Memorial Gymnasium. UIU will line up with NSU at 7 p.m. on Friday and then take on MSUM on Saturday at 4 p.m.
