The Upper Iowa University women's soccer team was unable to continue their winning ways as they were hounded by the Huskies and handed a 3-0 loss. The Peacocks fall to 5-1-0 (3-1-0 NSIC) on the season while St. Cloud State improves to 2-3-1 (2-1-1 NSIC) on the year.
St. Cloud State set the tone early as they earned a pair of corner kicks in the fourth minute before scoring in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead. The next action in the match came when the Huskies earned another corner kick at the 7:20 mark that led to a shot in the box that
Natalie Rudrud was able to save. UIU took their first shot of the match at the 11:07 mark, but it was off target. Rudrud saved the next SCSU shot in the 19th minute, but the save led to a corner kick that allowed the Huskies to score on a set piece and push their lead to 2-0 at the 19:01 mark.
Upper Iowa put a shot on goal at the 34:05 mark and earned a pair of corner kicks in the 39th and 40th minutes, but the first half finished with a 2-0 lead for the visitors. The Peacocks recorded the first shot of the second half in the 50th minute, but their final shot of the match would come at the 61:27 mark as St. Cloud controlled the second period. The Huskies scored again in the 73rd minute to secure a 3-0 lead that they would not relinquish.
