The Peacock volleyball team completed their weekend of action in North Dakota with a second straight sweep to improve to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa took down the University of Mary by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19 to secure the victory. The win marks UIU's 16
th straight against the Marauders dating back to October of 2009.

Upper Iowa's offense was humming as the squad averaged 17.3 kills per set in the match including a high-mark of 19 in the second set. For the match, UIU recorded a hitting percentage of .292 with 52 kills and 19 attack errors. The Peacock defense applied pressure to the Marauder offense limiting the home team to 31 kills in the match and a .168 hitting percentage. The visitors registered 51 digs in the three sets for a 17 digs per set average.

Aaron Nelson. "They played a solid match and we had to bring a high level of play throughout to beat them. It was a difficult week for our team, and we are proud of our ability to focus through all of it, come together as a team, and pull out two huge wins on the road in the NSIC."

Kaitlin Niedert and
Zoe Semelroth both notched 13 kills in the match, while
Maggie Streightiff added 11.
Nicole Pozorski set up the Peacock attack with 38 assists, while adding 11 digs and four aces.
Charisma Herr led the back line with 12 digs and also aided the attack with six assists.

Upper Iowa remains on the road for two more matches next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2. The Peacocks will line up against Bemidji State University on Friday at 6 p.m. and the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at 2 p.m.
