GAME ONE: UMary 4, Upper Iowa 0

Upper Iowa threatened to score in the top of the first after loading the bases with a pair of hit batters and a fielder's choice. However, the Peacocks were unable to push a run across the plate leaving Hogan Penny, Kyle Routhieaux, and Alex Greene stranded on the basepaths. Following the first inning, no Peacock reached base again.

UMary scored first, but the pair of runs didn't come until the bottom of the sixth as Snider and Draheim held both sides scoreless and hitless through five in the pitcher's duel. Snider had a no-hitter headed into the frame but was relieved after five innings. The senior had three consecutive 1-2-3 innings in the second, third and fourth amid his dominant outing. The Muscatine, Iowa native struck out six, walked three, and of course, did not allow a single hit in his five innings on the mound.

Jarrett Ramer started the sixth inning allowing a single and a pair of doubles that brought in two Marauders. Chirs Webber then came in to close out the inning allowing two more unearned runs to score on a passed ball and a fielding error committed by UIU's third baseman. Draheim shut down the side in the seventh securing a 4-0 victory for UMary and claiming his first career no-hitter.

GAME TWO: Upper Iowa 4, UMary 3

UMary scored the first run of the ballgame in the bottom of the first inning following a pair of walks, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly. Colin Lacey pitched the initial frame acting as the opener. Upper Iowa evened things up at one in the top of the third when Hilmer singled to the opposite field bringing Ryan Hull home who got aboard thanks to a wild pitch.

Keaton Parker relieved Lacey starting his outing by setting down six straight, fanning four, after walking the first batter he faced. Parker made two quick outs to begin the bottom of the fourth. The freshman allowed his first hit and subsequent runs on a single followed by a two-run homerun over the left field fence. Brennan Sefrit then came in to relieve the right-handed shutting down four straight to get UIU through the fifth, two of which were strikeouts.

Upper Iowa cut its deficit down to 3-2 in the ensuing half inning. Greene led things off with a single to left before Samuel Grushkin traded places on the basepaths with a fielder's choice. Adrian Trujillo then struck his third base hit of the game into the left field gap scoring Grushkin. The Peacocks tied things up at three in the seventh thanks to a pair of doubles from Routhieaux and Greene.

Sefrit's day ended after providing 2.1 scoreless innings, fanning four, and allowing just one hit. Steve Marhefke came in relief striking out five of the seven batters he faced in two innings on the hill. The stellar performance earned Marhefke the win, his first as a Peacock.

Upper Iowa took its first lead of the day in the top of the ninth. Hull started things off with a walk before Hilmer tripled deep down the right field line driving in the go-ahead run. Chris Webber came in to close the door in the ninth picking up his fourth save of the year.
