Upper Iowa fell 2-1 to Ashland University on Saturday afternoon. Following the game, the Peacocks move to 0-6 while the Eagles improve to 2-4 snapping a four-game skid.

Upper Iowa found the net first for the second time this season. Stan Cargill made his way into the box after Friedr Blunck and Tate Lofdahl connected a pair of passes allowing the sophomore forward to score. The goal came in the 19th minute and marked Cargill's third score of the season, a team-high, and his fourth at UIU. Blunck and Cargill remain atop the team lead in points following the play while Lofdahl registered his second assist of the season. On the opposite end of the pitch, Reighly Schultz deterred all four shots he faced in the opening period. 

The Eagles evened things up at one 12 minutes into the second half. The home team scored on the left side of the net when Justin Libertowski found Haruki Kimura for the goal. Aside from the one score, Osvaldo Alonso held off the opposition with four saves in the second half of action. 

The game remained tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation as UIU forced an extra period for the first time since Oct. 12, 2019. In overtime, the Peacocks fended off the Eagle offense until Kimura scored his second goal of the day on a free kick with 3:24 left on the clock winning the match.
