The Upper Iowa University women's soccer team could not manage the Mavericks as they fell by a score of 5-0 in Mankato, Minn. The Peacocks drop to 5-4-0 (3-4-0 NSIC) on the year while MSU-Mankato improves to 7-2-1 (5-1-1 NSIC) on the season.
Upper Iowa opened the match with the first shot of the contest at the 1:52 mark as 
Alex Garcia put a shot on goal, but the attempt was saved by MSU. The Mavericks scored the first goal of the match at the 14:26 mark after MSU streaked down the field on a counterattack following an unsuccessful UIU attempt at a set piece. MSU-Mankato's Jenny Vetter got behind the Peacock defense to score the opening goal after an assist from Allie Williams, and the duo combined again to double MSU's lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute.
 
Vetter recorded a hat trick at the 26:09 mark to put the Mavericks up 3-0, and the first half ended with MSU holding a 4-0 advantage over UIU following a goal in the 43rd minute. MSU-Mankato finished the first half with a 16-2 shot advantage after Upper Iowa took the first and last shots of the opening period. 
 
MSU-Mankato continued to apply the pressure early in the second half as they scored on their first shot of the period, with another Vetter goal off a Williams assist, putting the Mavericks up 5-0 at the 47:45 mark. UIU's first and only shot of the second half came at the 66:58 mark, but the attempt was blocked. The Mavericks finished the half with a 5-1 shot advantage and ended the match with a 5-0 win.
