On Monday night, the Peacocks took on the CyBears of New York Tech in a best of five ECAC Rocket League match. On Tuesday night, UIU faced Iowa Central Community College in an NACE best of five Rocket League match.
Match Highlights:
New York Tech: During game one, the Peacocks began with a lead scoring the first goal, UIU subsequently let up five unanswered scores resulting in a 5-1 loss. Game two started with a pair of Bears goals. The Upper Iowa offense then surged forward scoring a trio of goals by Sean Odegard to gain the lead. However, the push was not quite enough as the Peacocks dropped the game 4-3 after a pair of late goals by NY Tech. Game three saw a valiant effort from Upper Iowa with goals scored by Trace Woodward and Marqus Kenney, the Peacocks fell in the closely contested match 5-2.
ICCC: Game one began with UIU firing a plethora of shots on goal. The initial push led Marqus Kenney to tally five shots on target and Sean Odegard to total three respectively. The offensive attack wasn't enough as the Peacocks dropped game one 1-0. Upper Iowa played an aggressive second match with shots on target coming from every member of the team en route to a 4-0 victory. Game three was a closely contested battle as the game was at a 2-2 draw with less than a minute remaining. With 22 seconds on the clock, the Tritons were able to find the net taking a 3-2 lead and the game. UIU was able to bounce back in game four after an initial deficit. Upper Iowa tied the match with under a minute remaining. The game went to overtime where about a minute into the extra period Trace Woodward found the net securing an Upper Iowa victory. Game five was a scoreless affair resulting in sudden death overtime with everything on the line. With 2:22 into extra time, Marqus Kenney found Sean Odegard on a deep aerial shot giving the Peacocks a 1-0 victory in the fifth set, and the match 3-2.
