On Monday night, Upper Iowa Esports faced Elmira College in an ECAC Rocket League match. On Tuesday evening UIU faced Spoon River College and the University of Missouri in NACE RL but both games resulted in forfeits by the opponents.
Match Highlights:
Game one got off to a hot start with UIU finding the net first and shutting out the Eagle offense. Marqus Kenney tacked on a go-ahead goal later on in the match to secure the Peacocks' 2-0 win. In game two, the Peacocks came out playing some aggressive defense as the game began with a pair of big saves from Kenney and Sean Odegard. The defensive effort transitioned well to the other side of the ball as the Peacocks scored three goals off of assists displaying some great teamwork and utilizing ball movement all the way to a 3-1 win. Elmira scored first in game three off of a deflection. From that point forward, UIU dominated scoring five unanswered goals on the Soaring Eagles ending game 5-1 and taking the match 3-0.
