Beer will be available for purchase to the general public during home Upper Iowa football games for the 2019 season. The concession stands will first offer beer sales during the home opener, this Saturday, September 14, when the Peacocks host Concordia University St. Paul at 6:05 p.m.
"We are excited to roll out this new offering to all of our fans at home games this fall," Vice President for Athletics Rick Hartzell said. "Our staff and partners on campus in Student Life and Dining Services (Aramark), in conjunction with the Fayette Police Department, spent time working through the logistics to ensure we can provide a first-class fan experience at our games. We feel this plan helps to enhance our game day experience, while maintaining what has made game day at Harms-Eischeid Stadium one of the best experiences in Division II."
Beer will be available for purchase at the concession stands, with a limit of two beers per purchase. Anyone who wishes to purchase beer at the concession stand will first need to obtain a wrist band at the ID station located on the main concourse. Likewise, anyone who is in possession of beer inside the stadium gates must have a wristband visible at all times.
Peacock Athletic Fund members continue to have exclusive access to the Bemiss Distributors Patio at the north end of the stadium. There, PAF members have access to a wider selection of beers, along with a special all-you-can-eat food package, for just $5.
Fayette Police continues to handle game day security at Harms-Eischeid Stadium, as they have in the past, and will assist the UIU game operations staff with monitoring of beer consumption. Any fans wishing to report violations of the alcohol policy can report them directly to onsite security or UIU Athletics Administration.
