Jenny Budds led the team with four hits while Katie Crogan and Julia Buffington each added two. Jordyn Brennan and Buffington combined for nine of UIU's 14 total RBI with five and four, respectively.

Emily Kisch (10-5) and Jaclyn Thompson (2-4) each picked up wins in the circle after holding the Wildcats to just two runs on 13 hits between the games. The duo struck out six batters and walked four.

The Peacocks will stay on the road to face the Bemidji State University Beavers on Sat. Apr. 13 and the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles on Sun. Apr. 14.

Game One: Upper Iowa 3, Wayne State 1
Emily Draeger scored the first run of the day on a wild pitch after reaching first with a single to left field and making her way around the bases with a fielding error in the outfield.

The Peacocks tacked on two more runs in the next inning thanks to a two-rbi single from Buffington. Sami Kay Shafranski and Crogan both rounded home on the play after getting on board with a pair of errors.

Wayne State managed to cut the gap to 3-1 in the fourth. The Wildcats opened the inning with a double down the left field line and later scored the final run of the game with a single up the middle.

Kisch tossed a complete game to earn her 10th win of the season, her highest win total as a Peacock. The junior struck out four batters, walked a pair, and allowed one run on seven hits in her 7.0 innings.

Madison Adkison (6-9) suffered the loss despite holding the Peacocks to just four hits and not giving up an earned run.

Game Two: Upper Iowa 12, Wayne State 1 (5 Innings)
Upper Iowa took an early lead again in game two, this time using back-to-back doubles from Crogan and Buffington to jump ahead 3-0 in the first frame.

The Peacocks scored five runs over the next three innings to push their lead to 8-0. Budds scored an unearned run in the second off the sacrifice fly from Brennan, Michaela Schumacher added a run on a fielding error in the third, and Brennan blasted a three-run homer over the left center field fence in the fourth.

Wayne State prevented a shutout in the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot that made the score 8-1. The Wildcats put together their best inning of the day with three hits but weren't able to push any more runs across as the frame ended with a force out at third with two runners on.

Upper Iowa tallied up four runs on five hits in the top of the fifth to set up a 12-1 victory. After Kaylee Frenette advanced Erin Drahozal and Budds to scoring position with a groundout, Kennedy Newell brought Drahozal home with a base-hit to left field. Brennan then plated Budds with a groundout to second and Crogan doubled to score Newell. Pinch hitter Ali Green brought home the final run of the day with a single through the right side.

Thompson earned the win after only allowing one run on six hits in 5.0 innings.

Maddie Moser (3-9) took the loss, allowing eight runs, four earned, on six hits. Adkison, who received the loss in game one, gave up four runs on five hits in 2.0 innings of relief.
