Upper Iowa was on the road for a women's soccer match at Southwest Minnesota State University on Sunday afternoon. The Peacocks dropped the Northern Sun Conference match 4-0 to the Mustangs to fall to 3-10-4 overall and 3-8-3 in the NSIC. SMSU improved to 10-6 overall and 8-6 in the conference.
The Mustangs found the back of the net twice in each half led by the effort of Alli Miskowiec. SMSU's standout paced the offense with a pair of goals and two assists putting a foot into each score for the home team. Miskowiec scored the game's first goal in the 29
th minute on an assist from Abbey Hoisington. Hoisington then picked up her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Miskowiec in the 34
th minute. Erin Fisher got her fourth score past UIU's keeper in the 57
th minute on a pass from Miskowiec to make it 3-0. Miskowiec notched her tenth goal of the year in the 81
st minute on an assist by Jessica Jugovich.
Upper Iowa's offense generated seven shots in the match led by
Facienne Graham, who took four shots.
Natalie Rudrud allowed the four goals while making three saves for the Peacocks.
The Peacocks will head to Winona State University on Friday, Nov. 8 for their final match of the 2019 season. UIU and WSU are scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. next Friday.
