The No. 22 Peacock volleyball team dropped a three-set loss to the No. 6 Golden Bears of Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday evening. Concordia-St. Paul held Upper Iowa to a season-low hitting percentage while posting set victories of 25-21, 25-10 and 25-15. With the loss, UIU falls to 16-7 overall and 8-7 in the Northern Sun, while CSP improves to 19-4 overall and 13-2 in the conference.

The two teams went back and forth throughout the first set and a four-point run by Upper Iowa, fueled by a pair of kills from
Kaitlin Niedert, tied the match at 20-20. Another kill from Niedert kept UIU within one point, 22-21, but the Golden Bears scored three straight points including a pair of kills by Jasmine Mulvihill to win 25-21. CSP controlled the action in sets two and three to secure the victory.

Niedert led the team with 10 kills, while
Maggie Streightiff added 6 and
Anna Winter notched 5 kills.
Carlee Ketchum recorded 23 assists and 13 digs.

Upper Iowa will line up against the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato on Monday night in a pivotal match for both teams as the Northern Sun Conference Championships quickly approach.
