The Peacock women's soccer team hosted the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls on Friday afternoon in Fayette to wrap up their home schedule. Sioux Falls made the most of their limited opportunities to score a pair of goals while holding Upper Iowa scoreless to post a 2-0 shutout. The loss dropped UIU's record to 3-9-4 overall and 3-7-3 in the NSIC, while USF improved to 3-12-1 overall and 3-9-1 in the conference.

The Cougars scored a goal in each half while taking only seven shots in the whole match. Jaycie Dillenburg scored her second goal of the year in the 33rd minute when she knocked a bouncing pass in the box past UIU's keeper. Grace Held sent the pass into the middle and UIU's defense couldn't get to it. USF's second goal came quickly after a free kick in the middle of the attacking zone for the Cougars. Becca Schmitz sent a cross into the box and Mckayla Phillippi headed the goal to the back of the net.

Upper Iowa tallied 23 shots on the day including 11 on frame, but Holli Knudsen was up to the task as she came up with 10 saves. The Peacocks seemed to just miss on some golden opportunities in front of the keeper on rebounds and crosses that passed harmlessly through the box. The Peacocks gave themselves a huge advantage in set plays from the corner earning a 14-0 advantage throughout the match.
