For the sixth consecutive week, the Upper Iowa volleyball team is ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Top-25 poll. The Peacocks collected 204 votes in the poll released on Monday afternoon, which is good enough to earn the the No. 21 spot in this week's rankings. Upper Iowa is 13-6 overall and 5-6 in the loaded Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 

Seven other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schools are represented in the national rankings including Northern State (T-No.3), Minnesota Duluth (No. 5), Concordia-St. Paul (No. 7), Wayne State (No. 8), Southwest Minnesota State (No. 11), St. Cloud State (No. 13), and Winona State (No. 17). In addition, Minnesota State (56 votes) and Sioux Falls (15 votes) sit just outside the poll. 

Upper Iowa is looking to bounce back this week after going 1-2 in last week's action. The Peacocks started last week at home with a 3-1 loss to Minnesota State, and later split their matches over the weekend with a 3-1 win over MSU Moorhead and a 3-0 loss to then-No. 6 Northern State. 

UIU is back home this week to host Minot State on Friday and UMary on Saturday with just under a month left of the 2019 regular season. The Peacocks are currently tied with Augustana for 10th place in conference standings, and are just a pair of wins behind a four-way tie for 5th place and one win behind Sioux Falls in 9th place. MiSU and UMary are both searching for their first conference wins of the season.
