Mary Hutson joined the Upper Iowa Athletics Department this fall as the Head Competitive Cheer Coach and Spirit Coordinator. Hutson comes to Upper Iowa after serving as the cheer and dance coach for a year at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
 
Hutson brings a tremendous amount of experience to the Peacock cheer team from coaching competitive cheer, dance and gymnastics. She is a voting member of the National Dance Coaches Association, a former area representative of the National Dance Alliance and a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity.
 
Hutson earned a bachelor's degree in theatre and youth ministries in 2010 from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
