GENERAL INFORMATION
Pete The Peacock is the official mascot of Upper Iowa University and his duties are fulfilled by the members of Pete’s Crew. Pete makes appearances at various UIU sporting events such as football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, soccer, softball, baseball, and golf. In addition to sporting events, Pete is often requested to make various appearances across the state of Iowa for a number of events. Pete travels the country and participates in more events throughout the calendar year than most people can dream of.

To apply you do not need prior mascot experience. The mascot coaching staff is looking for fun-loving and creative men and women who want to represent UIU like no other.
MASCOT TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS
Upper Iowa is always looking for individuals to be the costumed mascot. Fill out the Upper Iowa University Cheerleading Application and mail video and application forms together.
Duties for Mascots:
- Attending assigned sporting events
- Attending assigned non-athletic events such as: alumni gatherings, community and university related functions.
- Attending practice sessions and workouts
- A mascot is always in character whenever attending an event. 'Revealing' your identity during events to students, faculty, staff, alumni, guest, or children is strictly prohibited. This destroys the illusion of the mascot.
