The Peacock volleyball team made it three straight sweeps with a 3-0 victory on the road at Minot State University. The win pushed UIU's set win-streak to nine straight and improved their record to 11-6 and 4-5 in the Northern Sun.
Upper Iowa came out on fire in the first set and posted a 25-8 win thanks to a .483 hitting percentage with 15 kills and just 1 attack error. The Peacocks won sets two and three by scores of 25-22 and 25-21. UIU's hitting faded as the match went on from .300 in set two and .154 in set three, but the defense held strong limiting the Beavers to a .121 hitting percentage.
Anna Winter knocked down 13 kills and
Kaitlin Niedert added 12 kills to lead the Peacock offense, while
Malissa LeClaire pushed out 34 assists to UIU's hitters.
Haley Weepie led the backline defense with 10 digs and
Lauren Wombles came up with 3 blocks.
Upper Iowa returns to Dorman Gym this coming weekend to face No. 3 Northern State University on Friday, Oct. 5 and Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday, Oct. 6.
