THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S HOOPS... Upper Iowa will travel north for their final road games of the regular season. The Peacocks will travel to the Taylor Center in Mankato, Minn. to take on the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato on Friday at 6 p.m. and then head east to the Twin Cities for Saturday's contest. THRILLING FRIDAY NIGHT IN DORMAN... Last Friday evening inside Dorman Gym, Upper Iowa came up two points short of upsetting Northern State, the second-best team in the NSIC North Division. Early in the fourth quarter, UIU trailed by nine, but a quick Peacock run pushed the home team back in front. Three freshmen fueled the run;
Madison Smith and
Emma Gaber, both knocked down three-pointers, and
Savannah Domeyer converted key baskets inside. A pair of free throws from senior
Ashley Rosenstiel tied the game at 66-66 with 11 seconds to play, but Northern State's Jill Conrad got a jumper in the lane to fall with 4 seconds on the clock. UIU's final shot bounced off the rim wide and the Wolves escaped with the win.

LATE-SEASON REMATCH… Upper Iowa met Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State in Dorman Gym in early December. The Peacocks fell to the Golden Bears 67-59 despite senior
Angelica De Paulo coming off the bench to score 22 points thanks to 9-12 shooting and 3-3 from behind the arc. The following day the Mavericks scored a 75-62 win over the Peacocks. A pair of Peacock guards recorded double-digits including junior
Blair Klostermann with 21 points and senior
Ashley Ray with 12.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS… Minnesota State lost a pair of games on the road last weekend to Minnesota Duluth, 68-55, and St. Cloud State, 68-67. Senior Claire Ziegler averaged a double-double for the weekend with 15.5 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Taylor Klug contributed 12.0 points per game over the weekend and led Minnesota State with six steals. Freshman Brooke Tonsfeldt also posted a new career-high of 14 points against the Huskies on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS... Concordia-St. Paul is currently riding a three-game losing streak and have dropped 9 of their last 12 games dating back to Dec. 30. Junior Lindsay Dorr led the Golden Bears last weekend averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Hanna Vidlund also averaged double-digit points with 10.5 over the weekend, including 16 points on 6-9 from the field and 3-5 beyond the arc versus St. Cloud State. Haydn Becker was a force on the glass averaging 7 rebounds while also dishing out 6 assists.
