SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS…
MISSOURI WESTERN… The Griffons are coming off a 13-18 overall record in 2017-18 and were picked in a sixth-place tie with Pittsburg State in the 2018-19 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. Last season, MWSU made MIAA history winning two games in the MIAA Women's Basketball Championships as the No. 12 seed – the lowest seed to ever win in the tournament and lowest seed to ever advance to the semifinals. Head Coach Rob Edmission is in 7
th year at helm and looks to build off the impressive postseason run with nine returners and six newcomers in 2018-19. Melia Richardson, Dossou Ndiaye, and Cera Ledbetter were all 2017-18 MIAA honorable mentions and will lead the pack this season. Richardson finished last season averaging 11.3 points per game, Ledbetter was the Griffons' most efficient shooter at 53.3 percent, and Ndiaye averaged 5.3 boards per contest.
FORT HAYS STATE… Following a 26-7 overall mark in 2017-18, the Tigers were picked to finish runner-up behind defending national champion University of Central Missouri in both the 2018-19 MIAA Coaches and Media Preseason Polls. The Tigers fell to Central Missouri in the NCAA Central Regional Semifinals to close out last season. FHSU lost just one senior to graduation from last year's squad and return four all-conference performers in Tatyana Legette, Carly Heim, Kacey Kennett and Lanie Page. The four combined for almost 60 percent of scoring in 2017-18 led by Legette who averaged a team-high 13.2 points per game. Head Coach Tony Hobson begins his 11
