THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S HOOPS… Upper Iowa will look to make it three in a row when the Peacocks open up the Northern Sun schedule at Winona State University on Saturday, Dec. 1. The Peacocks are coming off back-to-back wins in Puerto Rico while the Warriors split their last weekend of competition in Colorado. REMINISCING PUERTO RICO… Upper Iowa spent Thanksgiving break at the Puerto Rico Clasicó where the Peacocks dropped a close overtime decision to University of New Haven (60-58 OT) but bounced back with two straight victories over Universidad del Sagrado Corazon (65-55) and University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras (63-54) to finish 2-1. The Peacocks have won three of their last four contests and surpassed last season's win total just seven games into the season. Upper Iowa outrebounded opponents 139-116 over the week with 51 of those coming against UPR-Rio Piedras. New Haven was the only team to edge UIU in total boards (43-42).
SAVANNAH SUPERLATIVES… Savannah Domeyer recorded her first career double-double against UNH with 12 rebounds and 22 points on 10-for-12 shooting to kick off what turned into a big weekend for the sophomore. Domeyer finished the trip to Puerto Rico with 44 points, 25 rebounds, 9 blocks, 5 steals, and a shooting percentage of 67.9% – all team-highs. In the last four contests – three of which were Peacock wins – Domeyer sparked the team with averages of 14.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 1.8 steals while bettering her FG% by nearly 20 percent. Domeyer's total blocks (15) are currently tied for 1st in the NSIC and 14
th in NCAA Division II. The sophomore is shooting 65.2 percent overall, which ranks second-best in the conference and 10
th in all of NCAA Division II.

SCOUTING WINONA STATE… The Warriors finished the 2017-18 season with a 17-13 overall mark and have started the 2018-19 season with an even record at 2-2. The 2018 NSIC Tournament Runner-Ups have defeated Quincy University (65-57) and Colorado Christian University (66-58) but fell short against Truman State University (59-56 OT) and Metropolitan State University of Denver (58-55). Winona State is averaging 60.5 points per game, 39.8 rebounds per game and is shooting 37.0 percent from the field. The Warriors have three individuals averaging double-digit points in Allie Pickrain (13.3), Kayla Schaefer (10.8) and Gabie Doud (10.5). Doud leads the team in average rebounding (6.0) with Rachel Novotny (5.5) trailing close behind. Novotny has converted 64.3% of her shot attempts to lead the team. The Warriors were tabbed seventh overall and fourth in the NSIC South Division in the 2018 NSIC preseason coaches' poll.
LOOKING AHEAD… The Peacocks will return back to Dorman Gymnasium to face Wayne State College and Augustana University. Upper Iowa will take on the Wildcats on Fri. Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. and the Vikings on Sat. Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
