The Peacocks will square off against #10 Fort Hays State on Friday and the University of Mary for Senior Day on Sunday.

The Peacocks men's soccer team will host #10 Fort Hays State on Friday and then square off against the University of Mary for Senior Day on Sunday. Kick off for Friday's game is scheduled for 3pm with Sunday's match slated to take place at 2:30pm.

Prior to Sunday's match, Upper Iowa will recognize three Peacock seniors in a pregame ceremony to acknowledge their hard work and commitment to the Peacock soccer program. The three seniors being recognized are goalkeeper Bradley Kaufer, midfielder Joaquin Alonso, midfielder, Aaron Morgan..

Upper Iowa is coming off their third shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist last Saturday. The Peacocks put an end to a four game losing skid thanks to an early goal from Tate Lofdahl and an eight save performance from Nikolai Gogol.

Pattison Field has seen some solid performances for the Peacocks in 2018 as they have gone 3-2 on their home turf this year. The Peacocks have out shot their opponents at home 75-69 while scoring 9 times and holding their opponents to just 8 goals. This year Upper Iowa has put together three multiple goal games at home including a four game explosion against Southwest Baptist.

About the Opponents

#10 Fort Hays State University… The Tigers won the first game between these two sides when the Peacocks traveled to Hays, Kansas earlier in the season. Fort Hays has since accumulated enough conference points to claim the MIAA title. On Friday, the Peacocks will need to limit the production of Santiago Agudelo who has been the Tigers' most dangerous offensive weapon this year. Agudelo currently leads the nation in goals per game (1.57), points per game (3.50), shots on goal per game (3.29) and game winners (7). The last time the Fort Hays came to Fayette and were nationally ranked was 2016 and the Peacocks pulled off the upset topping the #21 Tigers 2-1.

University of Mary Marauders… The Peacocks and Marauders will square off for the first time this season on Senior Day. The Marauders are in the midst of a three game losing skid where they have been outscored 12-1. University of Mary will be bringing three players who have found the back of the net on multiple occasions. Both Adam Stringer and Gabriel Carvalho have netted two goals each while Alberto Asencio leads the Marauders with three goals on the season. The Peacocks hold the edge over the Marauders in the all-time series with an 8-2 record. The last time the Marauders topped the Peacocks was back in 2011 and they haven't been able to claim a victory in Fayette since 2009.

Both the Fort Hays State and University of Mary games will be available to live stream at uiupeacocks.com/live. The games will also be aired locally on KCRG-TV 9.2. The pregame ceremony honoring the Peacock seniors will take place about 20 minutes prior to kickoff.
