The Peacocks men's soccer team earned their third shutout of the season after topping the Oklahoma Baptist Bison 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Peacocks improve to 4-6-2 and the Bison fall to 4-13 after their first trip to Fayette.
The Peacocks went on the board early scoring in just the 6
th minute.
Italo Martins Soares made a run past a number of Bison defenders and slotted a pass to a wide open
Tate Lofdahl who was able to get the shot off and put the Peacocks up 1-0. Lofdahl's goal was his second of the year and the first game winner of his career. Italo propelled the Peacocks offensive efforts with five shots while Lofdahl took three, and
Seth Russell and
Joaquin Alonso added two shots each.

Nikolai Gogol had another strong performance in net for Upper Iowa, recording eight saves in Upper Iowa's third clean sheet of the year. Coming into Saturday's match, Gogol's 6.2 saves per game ranked 12
th in the nation.
The second half saw the Peacock offense pressure the Bison defenders as they fired eight shots and rang a few off the posts. Despite playing into a strong wind in the second half, Upper Iowa was able to create scoring opportunities all while keeping Oklahoma Baptist off the board to maintain the shutout.
The Peacocks will return to Pattison Field on Friday when they take on Fort Hays State in MIAA action.
