The Peacocks men's soccer team will travel to Lindenwood University on Sunday to face the Lions for the second time this season. Upper Iowa heads to St. Charles, Missouri with a 3-4-2 record and will take on the Lions who currently sit at 6-4-2. Both teams will look to move up in the MIAA standings, Upper Iowa sit in second with a 2-2 record while Lindenwood are 1-2-1 against conference opponents.
The first leg of the series went to the Peacocks, who topped the Lions 2-1 in dramatic fashion.
Italo Martins Soares scored gave the Peacocks an early lead with his first goal of the season, lifting a long-range top over the top of the Lions' goalkeeper. Lindenwood was able to even things up and the game stayed level into the final minutes of regulation. The Peacocks were able to draw a foul inside the box and were awarded a penalty in the 88

Marko Cirko fired the shot home to secure the win and earned the Peacocks their first win over Lindenwood since the 2015 season.
Offensive struggles have recently plagued the Peacocks, who have been outshot 60-27 in their last three games. Opponents have also been able to edge Upper Iowa in shots on target, with the Peacocks only getting 15 shots on frame to the opponents 28. The Peacocks have only been able to convert those shots into three goals over the three period.
Sunday's matchup presents Upper Iowa's offense with a good opportunity as Lindenwood goalkeepers have struggled so far this season. The Lion goalkeepers have made 33 saves while conceding 21 goals for a .611 save percentage. Peacock goal scorers will have a solid opportunity to get on the board as the Lions have allowed at least one goal in each of their games this year and have yet to record a shutout.
The Peacocks took the first game of the year and currently are ahead of the Lions in the MIAA standings. Kickoff for Sunday's match is scheduled for 1:30pm and will be held at Lindenwood's Harlon C Hunter Stadium.
