THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S HOOPS… Upper Iowa welcomes the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato on Friday night and the Golden Bears of Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday evening. Friday's game will tip at 6 p.m. with Saturday's contest slated for a 4 p.m. start. UIU will celebrate Peacocks in Pink on Friday with the support of Gundersen Health Systems to raise awareness for breast cancer research.

SENIOR NIGHT SATURDAY… The Peacock women's basketball team is saying good-bye to four seniors this weekend as they play in their final home games.

Carly Pagel are all wrapping up their time with Upper Iowa this season. Gustafson and Benson are finishing their Peacock careers as managers with the program after injuries took them off the floor. Ofstad is closing out her two years with UIU and is nearing 400 points in Peacock blue and white, while Pagel has moved into ninth place on the all-time scoring list at Upper Iowa with 1,061 points. The quartet will be recognized and honored following the game on Saturday against Concordia-St. Paul.

NSIC SCORING LEADER... Sophomore
Blair Klostermann has been impressive in her first season for Upper Iowa. The sophomore guard is leading the Northern Sun Conference in scoring at 18.1 points per game this season. Klostermann has tallied 398 points in 22 games including a high of 34 points at home against Wayne State College. The Dyersville, Iowa native has scored in double figures in 18 of the team's 22 games and topped the 20-point mark 8 times while shooting 41.1% from the field, 36.7% from three and 84% from the free throw line.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS… Minnesota State has won four of its last five games and has a overall record of 13-9 and a 9-9 NSIC record. Most recently, the Mavericks rolled past St. Cloud State, 83-55, at Taylor Center. Senior Karina Schroeder led the way with her third double-double of the season posting a season-best 12 rebounds and added 17 points. Senior Britney Scherber contributed a game-high 21 points. Scherber leads the Mavericks netting 11.5 points per game. Junior Claire Ziegler is pulling down a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. As a team this season, Minnesota State is averaging 72.5 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 67.6.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS... CSP extended their winning streak to 10 games after a pair of wins this past weekend. Concordia first defeated St. Cloud State by a score of 88-75 and then followed up with a 70-59 win against Minnesota Duluth. The Golden Bears have seen several different players shine in different areas this season with four different players registering in as top-10 performers in nine different statistical categories in the conference. Kyrah Fredenburg ranks first in rebounds per game at 10.4 while her 8.3 defensive rebounds per game also ranks first. Anna Schmitt places in three categories as she ranks third in scoring (18.0PPG), sixth in field goal percentage (48.1%), 10th in free-throw percentage (.811) and fourth in minutes played per game (35.1). Caitlyn Russell's 1.8 blocks per game ranks seventh in the conference. Mishayla Jones ranks fifth in steals per game (2.0) and fourth in assists per game
(4.5); Jones is only 11 points away from 1,000 career points.
