Upper Iowa made it two straight wins with another sweep at home. The No. 25 Peacocks honored their two seniors,
Ashley Larson and
Madi Meier, prior to today's match and then swept the Beavers of Minot State University. The team improved to 20-7 overall and 11-7 in the Northern Sun Conference. With the victory and other action around the league, the Peacocks have locked up their first-ever berth into the NSIC Tournament.

Upper Iowa's offense tallied 29 kills in the first two sets while posting 25-17 victories and then took a big lead early in the third set and cruised to the sweep with a 25-13 win. UIU's defense picked up 55 digs and 8 team blocks. Senior
Ashley Larson registered 17 digs and 6 service aces in her final time on Prochaska Court, while junior
Bethany Lovhaug sent back 5 Beaver attacks. UIU's defense held their guests to a .009 hitting percentage with 28 kills and 27 attack errors.

Aaron Nelson was able to empty the bench as all 16 Peacocks touched the floor. Sophomore
Anna Winter led the team with 8 kills, while
Haley Weepie added 7 and Lovhaug knocked 6 shots down.
Malissa LeClaire handed out 24 assists in her time on the floor and added 6 digs.

Big runs in each of the three sets allowed the Peacocks to take care of business. In set one, UIU used a 19-4 run to go from a three-point deficit to a twelve-point lead. In the second set, a 7-1 run erased a poor start that saw MiSU take a 5-1 lead. The run in the third set came early and often as Upper Iowa took a 21-5 lead and never looked back.

Upper Iowa is on the road next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11 for their final game of the regular season. The Peacocks will face Northern State on Friday and then visit MSU Moorhead on Saturday to end the regular season.
