THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK MEN'S BASKETBALL…
The Peacocks will hit the road for a busy week of basketball as they head over to Quincy, Ill. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to take on the Hawks of Quincy University at 7:30 p.m. Upper Iowa will then head down to Maryville, Mo. for the Northwest Missouri State Tournament this weekend to round out their three-game week. UIU will match up with the Bulldogs of Truman State University on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., before squaring off with the Roadrunners of Metro State University on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.

PEACOCK STORYLINES...
LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK… After their first 3-0 start as an NCAA Division II program, the Peacocks had a tough weekend down in St. Joseph, Mo. at the Hillyard Tip-Off Classic. Upper Iowa fell at the hands of the #1 Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State, 89-65, on Friday before being downed by the Missouri Western Griffons, 77-65. UIU never had a lead over the weekend, and will look to bounce back this week with a quick turnaround.
WELCOME TO THE CLUB… Senior
Carson Parker only needed three and a half games this season to join the illustrious 1,000-point club at Upper Iowa. The New Hartford, Iowa native needed just 67 points coming into the season to reach the plateau, and in Friday's loss to NMSU, Parker became the 27th member of the group. The point guard has now scored 1,019 career points, and is averaging 17.2 points per game this season. Parker is also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, while shooting 45.5% from the floor. Earlier this season, Parker also recorded 10 assists against Palm Beach Atlantic, and became the first player since 2004 to accomplish that feat.
EFFICIENCY… Dennis Austin III has been extremely efficient with his touches so far this season through the first five games. Austin III is shooting 65.8% from the floor, and has already made 31 trips to the free throw line as well. The Apple Valley, Minn. product has already put together two 20-point games this season, including the season opener against CSU-San Bernardino, and on Friday against Northwest Missouri State.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE… Junior Munachiso Okonkwo has already recorded a pair of double-doubles this season, and they are the first two of his career at Upper Iowa, after joining the team a season ago. Okonkwo recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds against Humboldt State out in California, and then added a 10-point, 10-rebound performance on Sunday against Missouri Western State. The Owerri, Nigeria native is averaging 7.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, and has added 11 blocks as well.
GET TO THE HALF… The Peacocks so far this season are 2-0 when they lead at halftime, as they did in two of their three games at the Disney Tip-Off Classic. On the other end of the spectrum, UIU is 1-2 when they trail at the intermission. Through five games, the team has not been tied through 20 minutes of play.

THE SERIES…
vs. QUINCY:Â The Peacocks will square off with the Hawks for the third consecutive year. The series is tied 1-1, with both road teams winning each of the last two seasons. Two seasons ago, Upper Iowa pulled off a 93-81 win in Quincy, Ill., but the Hawks came to Fayette last season to earn an 86-78 victory to even the series.
vs. TRUMAN STATE:Â The Bulldogs lead the series against UIU with a 6-2 record. The teams met two years ago in Fayette, when Truman State won 84-80. Teh Bulldogs have now won two straight in the series with a win last season in Kirksville, Mo., 87-76. UIU had a two-game winning streak against Truman before TSU won two seasons ago.
vs. METRO STATE: The two programs will match up for the first time on Saturday.
